Dear Executive Committee of the Tribal Pesticide Program Council:

Please be advised that ____________________ (Name of Person) is authorized to be the official representative of the __________________________ (Name of tribe or tribal organization) to the Tribal Pesticide Program Council.

We understand that the TPPC wishes to ensure that its Council is composed only of authorized tribal or tribal organization representatives and hopes to attract Council members who have valuable experience with tribal environmental programs and priorities, and where possible, specifically with pesticide programs, issues and concerns.

We also understand that the TPPC is a technical resource, research and policy group focused on pesticide programs that are established or are developing, and/or the resolution of tribal pesticide issues and concerns. We are advised that the TPPC is not a political entity or lobbying group, and that we need have no concerns that this representative will be asked to vote or state the tribe's position at any time.

We are advised that the only cost to the Tribe of our representative's participation will be the loss of their time when attending meetings. The TPPC will pay all the costs of travel for any representative that we name to the Council, for two Council meetings per year. If our representative is at any time elected to the TPPC Executive Committee, they will be committed to attend another two meetings per year, and any travel costs associated with attendance at those additional two meetings will also be paid by the TPPC. Each new member of the TPPC will be provided with a copy of the TPPC Rules and Procedures which explain the process for travel and reimbursements.
